5 Promises Trump Made (and Kept)

(TargetLiberty.org) – When Donald Trump ran for the presidency in 2016, he made the American people a lot of promises. This is common when a person runs for office, and many times we see a failure to keep promises. But how does the commander-in-chief measure up in this department?

Trump has actually kept a lot of the promises he made. Let’s take a look at some of them.

1. Building the Wall

One of the president’s biggest vows to the people is that he would secure the border by building an impenetrable wall. Democrats fought him tooth and nail, but he prevailed. In June, construction crews completed the 200th mile of the barrier along the Southern border, and work is ongoing.

2. Unemployment

Before COVID-19 caused the economy to shut down, the president’s job-creating policies had led to the lowest unemployment rate in 50 years. And, it looks like that might happen in the future again as the economy bounces back.

3. Historic Foreign Policy Wins

In September, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, and UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan signed the Abraham Accords normalizing relations between the Middle Eastern countries. President Donald Trump brokered the historic peace deal.

4. Defeat of ISIS

When the president took office, ISIS was surging in the Middle East. Poor decisions by the Obama Administration allowed the terrorist organization to flourish. That all changed when Trump took his place in the Oval Office.

The terrorist organization has experienced defeat many times over and now the Middle East is safer than it was four years ago.

5. Regulations Reduced

President Trump was able to bring many jobs back to the US, in part, because of his elimination of many burdensome regulations. According to the Trump Campaign, the commander-in-chief has eliminated 22 old regulations for every new one put in place.

Four More Years?

Trump promises to continue his policies should he be elected to a second term. The election is less than three weeks away, have you decided who you’re going to support?
