(TargetLiberty.org) – A Washington police officer has been suspended from duty after posting a video criticizing the state’s lockdown regulations. Greg Anderson, an officer with the Port of Seattle, talked for several minutes about the conflict between lockdown and the American people’s constitutional rights. In his video, he urged his fellow officers not to arrest those who exercised their rights.
Unfortunately for Anderson, his department decided since he was in uniform when he made the video, his own First Amendment rights don’t apply. As a result, he’s been put on administrative leave, waiting for an investigation into whether he violated departmental policy.

In a long post on the department’s website, Chief Rod Covey argues that, while Anderson is “…a good police officer and an exceptional American…his right to speak has limitations…”
We’ll keep you updated on how this plays out.
