Flu Season Numbers Are Larger Than Coronavirus

(TargetLiberty.org) – The novel coronavirus has infected tens of thousands worldwide and, right now, the government is frantically preparing for a pandemic. Yet, we have another deadly disease ravaging the US: Influenza.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates for the 2019-2020 flu season are terrifying. At least 32 million people have the flu, but it could be as many as 45 million. The agency believes that between 310,000 to 560,000 people have been hospitalized because of the illness and between 18,000 and 46,000 have died. By comparison, the coronavirus has killed over 2,800.

All of the numbers are estimates because the US does not require medical facilities to report when a patient is diagnosed. According to the CDC, these are the numbers for the US and its territories; the numbers are much higher worldwide.
